KINGSTON, Ont. (January 27, 2010) – The 2010 Queen’s Football Club (QFC) Legacy of Excellence Golf Tournament and Dinner has been set for Monday, June 14, 2010 at Wyndance Golf Club in Uxbridge, Ont. Registration for the event is now available.
The tournament has generated funds in excess of $525,000 since its inception four seasons ago. Funds from the tournament provides additional financial support and services essential to helping aid Queen’s Football in the pursuit of athletic and academic excellence.
“The QFC Legacy of Excellence Golf Tournament is always a highlight on the pre-season calendar,” said Head Coach Pat Sheahan. “I am always overwhelmed and inspired to see the commitment to our program by our former players. I have no doubt in my mind this season’s tournament will be memorable on many levels.”
This year’s chair of the event is former Queen’s Football player Alex Melvin who was a member of the Gaels squad from 1971-1973.
Wyndance Golf Club holds the distinction of being the only course in Canada designed by the legendary Greg Norman. Norman, a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, crafted a masterful routing through and around a former sand and gravel pit to create a breathtaking masterpiece. Wyndance was named runner-up by Golf Digest as best new course in Canada in 2008.
